05-09-2011 Queen Beatrix will open the Gate LNG Terminal
The Dutch Government Information Service reported this last Thursday. Gate terminal is the first import terminal for liquefied natural gas in the Netherlands.
The reason for the development of Gate Terminal is the increasing demand and declining production of natural gas in northwestern Europe.
The liquefied natural gas is transported by ship and then made for gas supply to the Dutch gas transport and northwest European markets.
Gate has three storage tanks. They will each have a capacity of 180,000 cubic meters.
